How is the Amazon listing score calculated?
You answer 12 quick questions about your listing. Each area has a weight, and the weights add up to 100: for example A+ Content, ratings count and star rating are worth 10 points each, and images 9. The weights are XENA's own method, built on the listing guidance Amazon publishes for sellers and advertisers, which is linked next to every question.
What does Amazon recommend for a product listing?
Amazon Ads recommends a title of about 60 characters, at least three bullet points, four or more high-quality images of at least 1,000 pixels on a white background, A+ Content, a competitive price, staying in stock, and at least five reviews with a 3.5-star rating or higher before you advertise a product.
Does this scorecard look up my ASIN?
No. The scorecard runs on your answers only, so it works for any listing, including ones that aren't live yet. If you want a review of the actual listing, add your ASIN to the free audit request and a XENA strategist will look at it.
Do I need to give my email to see my score?
No. Your score, grade and top three fixes appear on the page as soon as you answer the questions, and your answers stay in your own browser. The email form is optional, for a free full audit from our team.
How much can A+ Content and video help sales?
Amazon says Basic A+ Content can increase sales by up to 8% and well-implemented Premium A+ Content by up to 20%, and that product detail pages that added their first shoppable video saw an average 24% increase in sales.
What grade should I aim for?
Aim for an A (90 or more). Scores of 80 to 89 are a B, 70 to 79 a C, 60 to 69 a D and under 60 an F. Fix the areas worth the most points first; the scorecard lists your top three.
