AI visibility score

An AI visibility score is a single number that summarises how often and how prominently AI engines recommend a product or brand across a set of buyer questions. In SearchPanel, the Visibility Score is one 0–100 score per SKU, blended across AI platforms and refreshed daily.

Why it matters for CPG brands

AI answers change from engine to engine and day to day, so a single screenshot proves very little. A score tracked per product over time shows which SKUs are being named, which are slipping, and whether a listing change actually helped. Scoring per SKU matters because a healthy brand average can hide products AI has stopped naming.

Example

SearchPanel breaks its score into the signals behind it: mention rate (is the product named at all), average position, citations, sentiment, consistency across engines, freshness and location visibility. A brand sees that one hero SKU is named on ChatGPT but missing on Perplexity, and works on that gap first.

Is there a standard AI visibility score?

No. Each tool defines its own. When comparing scores, check which engines, prompts and signals go into them and how often they're refreshed.
